- Comet Bay College to launch augmented reality (AR) app to preserve the Anzac legacy
- Interactive and engaging way to educate students about Australia's military history
The Anzac AR App was produced by Comet Bay College in collaboration with developer Viewpoint XR and will educate students about Australia's servicepeople and the sacrifices they made.
The purpose of the app is to preserve Australia's military history and can be used as a tool in the classroom to teach military history lessons in an interactive and engaging way.
The app includes digital AR projections of veterans who share their stories of service.
It also features AR vehicles, uniforms and equipment where users can investigate the items close up and learn about the military history and features of each item.
There are also 360-degree immersive experiences of locations relevant to military history, as well as a gallery of honour featuring AR portraits of veterans.
The Anzac XR App will be shared with schools in Australia and will also be available to be downloaded by all Australians on a smartphone or tablet.
